What should and shouldn't I do if I experience diarrhea?

Dietary Do's and Don'ts for Diarrhea

Foods and Drinks to Avoid:

- Dairy products (if lactose intolerant)

- Fatty or greasy foods

- Spicy foods

- High-fiber foods (raw fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes)

- Caffeinated beverages (coffee, tea, soda)

- Alcohol and sugary drinks

These can be hard to digest and may worsen diarrhea.

When to Seek Medical Advice:

- Diarrhea lasts more than a few days

- Severe symptoms accompany diarrhea

For lactose intolerance, avoid dairy to see if symptoms improve. Stick to low-fiber, easily digestible foods until you recover.
