Keto Diet Facts & Tips

If I lose weight on keto, will I end up with loose, sagging belly skin?

Not if you do it correctly and healthily. That means following the Healthy Keto® diet and intermittent fasting.

Your skin is the largest organ in the body. As you get healthy that skin heals and the collagen heals up. What happens is that you lose the structural matrix of protein around your body when you have loose skin, also called atrophy. You can also see it in your hips as cellulite. A lot of times that is a protein deficiency, but you can’t consume protein to correct this because the protein is prevented from going into the cell by insulin resistance.

Insulin resistance is one of the most common things that occur with people who are gaining weight and have loose sagging skin. The ketogenic diet fixes insulin resistance, allowing the amino acids to go into the cell, and the proteins are now being formed.

Protein is heavier than fat, so sometimes you will hit a weight plateau while your body repairs itself but you will notice that your size is still shrinking. Your waist is getting smaller and the skin is coming back.

Another help for your skin: it’s best to do the keto diet with intermittent fasting to spike your growth hormone up to 2000%. Growth hormone helps preserve your protein even more.
