Keto Diet Facts & Tips

Is it safe to transition to keto while pregnant?

Especially the only thing you need to watch out for when you're pregnant is to maybe not do a lot of strict fasting. But as far as the type of foods, I highly recommend the healthy version of the ketogenic diet, not just keto, which is low carb because you want those quality calories. You don't need more carbs when you're pregnant. In fact, you can put the infinite risk of getting problems with diabetes and blood sugar problems and insulin resistance. It starts early on. The most important time to eat healthy is while you're pregnant. And then when you're breastfeeding and hopefully you're going to breastfeed because then you actually can give that child a chance to not develop allergies and have a very strong immune system. A lot of the microbes that fortify the gut are in the breast milk and not to mention all the support for colostrum and immune system.

*Please keep in mind that the above is not a medical recommendation. You should consult with your doctor if you will be making any dietary changes during you pregnancy.
