Symptoms, conditions and causes

What are the causes for loose skin?

Your skin is an organ. As you get more healthy, your skin heals. The only way you can get sagging or loose skin is if you lose weight unhealthily.

Cause #1: Low levels of human growth hormone (HGH)

Human growth hormone can be considered as an anti-aging hormone. Most of its functions have to do with protein: prevention of muscle-mass loss, strengthening the joints, and providing a healthy skin condition. If your body is not producing enough human growth hormone this can create loose skin.

Cause #2: High stress

You need certain amino acids and proteins for the healthy state of your skin. If you are undergoing a lot of stress from day to day, this can result in overproduction of cortisol (stress- regulating hormone) which will lower the absorption of vital nutrients by your skin. The solution for that would be to support your body with good nutrition and increase stress tolerance.

Cause #3: Insulin resistance

Insulin is a hormone that allows cells to receive needed fuel, protein and collagen. When you consume too many carbs and eat frequently over some period of time you may develop insulin resistance. This is the condition where your cells are resisting excess Insulin (because it was produced too much due to carbs and frequent eating). This will result in starvation of the cells and affect your skin, making it loose.

Cause #4: Low stomach acidity

If your stomach acidity is low, you can have loose, sagging skin. It takes a high stomach acidity to be able to absorb food and needed nutrients from it that support your skin. The best way to correct low acidity is to take apple cider vinegar and betaine hydrochloride before your meals.
