What are some fats versus bad fats?

Good fat sources would be:

  • Grass-fed animal butter

  • Cheese

  • Cream

  • Olive oil

  • Palm oil

  • Coconut

  • Nuts and seeds

  • Avocado

  • Flax

  • Sesame seed

  • Lard / pork

  • Tallow / beef

  • Wild-caught fish

  • Fish oil

  • Safflower

  • Sunflower

Just be mindful that fish oil is high in omega-3, which is anti-inflammatory, and safflower and sunflower oil are high in omega-6, which is inflammatory. Use these last two in moderation.

Bad fat sources would be:

  • Soy

  • Corn

  • Cottonseed

  • Canola

  • Margarine

  • Restaurant fried foods
