What are the signs of consuming too much sugar?

Insulin resistance is a situation where your cell receptors begin to resist insulin. As insulin resistance progresses, it turns into pre-diabetes and diabetes. If you can address insulin resistance early, you can help reduce your risk of pre-diabetes and diabetes. However, doctors rarely test for insulin resistance. This test is known as HOMA-IR. At least 33% of the population has insulin resistance—most don’t know about it.

These are the seven warning signs you’re eating too much sugar:

1. Frequent urination

2. Excess thirst and dry mouth

3. Hunger between meals

4. Blurred vision

5. Irritability

6. Fatigue—even after sleep

7. Genital itching
