What are the symptoms of prostate enlargement?

Enlarged prostate is a common problem for men. There are some contradictory factors involved in the underlying causes for it. However, it has mostly hormonal reasons behind it.

Cause #1: Too-high estrogen

The reason some men experience prostate enlargement is too much estrogen in their bodies. Estrogen is a hormone that makes things grow. Typically, men have low amounts of estrogen in their bodies. The vast majority of estrogen that a man has comes from testosterone that is being converted to estrogen. Additionally, if you have a high percentage of body fat, this can cause higher production of estrogen.

Cause #2: High insulin

Another reason for prostate enlargement is high amounts of insulin (fat-storing hormone). Insulin is an anabolic hormone, which means it makes things grow. When you consume high amounts of sugar and carbs, this can cause the increase of insulin.
