Why do I have such a heavy menstrual cycle?

A heavy period can cause a lot of discomfort during that time of the month. It’s a hormonal problem. Let’s look at the common remedies for this.

Cause #1: Estrogen dominance

Too much estrogen can cause a lot of problems during the period, including cramping, long periods and other period-related issues. We need estrogen for normal functioning of the body, but if there’s too much you can get heavy periods and have other issues. Many people already have high estrogen due to the number of foods that contain chemicals that mimic estrogen.


  • Avoid dairy

  • Avoid grains (unless 100% grass-fed)

  • Avoid soy foods

  • Avoid GMO foods

  • Consume cruciferous vegetables (natural estrogen blockers)

  • Consume DIM (concentrated cruciferous)

  • Consume calcium D-glucarate

  • Consume magnesium orotate

  • Consume B vitamins:

    • vitamin B1

    • vitamin B6

    • B complex

  • Consume natural vitamin C complex

  • Consume vitamin D

  • Consume Ovex (a Standard Process supplement)

    • during period 6 times per day

    • outside of period you can take it once per day

  • If you want to eat cheese you can eat:

    • goat cheese

    • sheep cheese.

Other causes:
