Why do Nutritional Yeast Flakes contain vitamin B12?

Unfortunately, our Nutritional Yeast doesn't contain added Vitamin B12. We attempted to fortify it with B12 methylcobalamin, but the vitamin consistently settled to the bottom of the bag, making even distribution impossible.
