Omega 3 Cod Liver Fish Oil
Why is there no vitamin A and D in Dr. Berg’s Wild-Caught Omega-3 Cod Liver Oil when he mentions these nutrients as a great benefit of cod liver oil?
Dr. Berg’s Wild-Caught Omega-3 Cod Liver Oil is carefully sourced from high-quality, wild-caught cod, ensuring a pure and potent base. Dr. Berg often highlights that cod liver oil is naturally rich in both vitamin A and vitamin D. In its natural form, cod liver oil provides significant amounts of these vitamins and can be obtained by eating cod liver along with its oil.
During the deodorization process used in manufacturing, high heat is applied to ensure purity and stability. This step significantly reduces the levels of vitamins A and D, so neither vitamin remains in meaningful amounts, and they do not appear on the label. Importantly, Dr. Berg chose not to add back synthetic vitamin A, such as retinyl palmitate, or supplemental vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). His goal is to deliver a clean product that provides an omega-3–focused oil.
