Why menopause is making me fat?

The ovaries make several hormones called estrogen and progesterone. An average woman releases 400 eggs and when going through menopause, the ovaries basically stop producing eggs. Both hormones decrease but the ratio of estrogen is still much higher than progesterone leaving someone in the state of estrogen dominance.

The estrogen dominance will trigger another hormone, Corticotrophin Releasing Hormone (CRH) which is basically a hormone that communicates to the pituitary. Cortisol is the main hormone that creates the problem. He also talks about the excess cortisol being very catabolic.
