Keto Diet Facts & Tips

Will ketosis help cancer?

Yes, this is recommended as a good diet plan for cancer. Most tumor cells and cancers are dependent on glycolysis, the metabolism of sugar, as their primary food. Cancer cells are unable to use ketones since they are glucose-dependent.

Ketones are an alternative source of energy and they are preferred by the body. The way to produce ketones is to cut down dietary carbs to about 20 to 50 grams a day and remove sugar from the diet. You can even add intermittent fasting. All healthy cells can use ketones. Cancer cells cannot adapt to ketones and only use large amounts of sugar or glucose as their fuel. So doing the Healthy Keto® diet with intermittent fasting will allow you to stop fueling the cancer.
